The following are current prices paid to farmers, f.0.b., Lyttelton, and free of commission, except where otherwise specified :

Wheat : Prime milling, Tuscan 2s 6d to 2s 7d, pearl and Hunter's 2s 6d, whole fowl wheat 2s 4d to 2s 6d.

Oats: ]V'.iling 2s 3d to 2s 4d, short feed 2s 3d to 2s 4d, duns and Danish 2s 2d to 2s 3d, Tartarians 2s 3d to 2s 4d.

Flour (millers' quotations): -Roller, £6 15s.

Sharps : .£4. Bran : .£3 10s. Oatmeal : .£l3 f.o.b. Oatsheaf chaff —35 s 40s at near country stations.

Grass Seed —Ryegrass, farmers' lots, Is lid to 2s 3d for extra good, farmers' seed, machine dressed 2s 8d to 3s 3d, cccksfoot farmers' dressed lines 2||d to 2gd for bright seed. Cowgra&s (dressed seed), 6|d ±o 7id. White clover, farmers' lines 7d to Bd. Christchurch, Nov 28

Fat cattle : 177 yarded, mostly fair steers, with a few extra good heifers. The market was dull, and last week's prices barely upheld. Good to prime beef 23s to 265, other 18s to 225, steers L 7 10s to L 9 15s, and Ldl 7s 6d for one extra, best heifers L 8 to LlO ss, others L 5 10s to L 7 10s, cows L 5 to L 8 2s 6d.

Fat sheep : About 2500 mostlyshorn quality not so good as last week, but improvement in prices. "Woolly wethers 16s to 16s 4d, hoggets 12s to" 12s lOd, in shorn —best wethers 15s to 17s 3d, others 12s to 14s 6d, best ewes 12s 4d to 14s Id, others 9s to lis 6d, hoggets 10s to lis 6d, merino wethers 9s to lis 6d, and ewes 6s Id to 7s. Fat lambs : 229 penned. A poor demand, owing to continueu dry weather. The only line of wethers in shorn made 9s 4d, ewes in wool with lamb 8s 6d all counted, shorn 6s to 7s 6d for good, and 3s Id to 4s 8d others, shorn hoggets 7s 6d to 9s 4d. Pigs : About 450 penned, including a good supply of stores. Fats were easier. Baconers 35s to 555, equal to 3|d per lb, porkers 24s to 30s (3|d to 3f d per lb). Stores sold well owing to outside competition. Large sorts 16s to 245, smaller 12s to 15s, suckers and weaners 6s to 9s.

Messrs Freeman R. Jackson and Co. in conjunction with Messrs Abraham and Williams) report that ?at their sale at Johnsonville, near Wellington, on Thursday last, the usual supply of cattle came forward. These comprised a line of somewhat unfinished raw bullocks, the few prime cattle entered being very small. Prices shew r ed no imdrovement on last week's quotations, and a dragging sale resulted. Entries of sheep comprised a fair lines of ewes and wethers, and a few lambs of poor quality. In sympathy with the general tone of the market, prices were lowered by 6d to Is per head. Quotations : Best bullocks .£7 17s to .£8 10s, small do £7 to L 7 12s 6d, fair butcher' ewes lis sd, wethers 13s 4dto 13s sd, half fatted ewes 8s 3d, stores 5s 3d, fair lambs 9s 3d to 10s 9d, poor do 5s to 7s.
