NELSON A. & P. SHOW.

The annual show of the above society was held at Richmond on Tuesday and Wednesday last, the first day having been devoted to judging and Wednesday treated as the people's day. The last mentioned day was observed in this district as a general holiday and a large number of settlers found their way to the show grounds. We give below the names of those prize akers etc , who hail from this locality, t In hone , Mr F. W. Starnessecured first prizes for best pairs of draught and plough horses ; also for -draught mare.

In sheep, Mr S. Wratt gained first for mei iuo ram, any age. In fat sheep Mr Wratt secured first and second prizes for five crossbred wethers or maiden ewes, under 30 months old. In Domestic Produce, Mr Thomas Heath secured first for side provincial cured bacon, also for same smoked ; and first arid second prizes for ham, smoked.

Mr Stuart Wratt acted as judge of the dogs. Messrs Fairey Brothers the wellknown butchers of Nelson, secured first prizes for fat beasts, the locally bred animal having been secured from Riwaka.

In the riding and driving competition, Mr S. Wratt gained first prize for best pony, mare or gelding, not exceeding 14 hands 2 inches, and third prize for his pony Tohey. Mr F. C. Batchelor secured second prize for hack, mare or gelding, up to 12 st.

Mr R. H. Rankin acted as one of the judges of domestic produce.
