STOCK SALES. Christ-church, Nov 14. The first sale for a fortnight, and very dragging throughout. Fat cattle—22o yarded ; mostly gpod to prime steers and cows. All heifers were light weight. The market was a shade easier. Beef 20s, 275. Bullocks, <£lo, £l% ; others, £6 15s, =£9 ; heifers £5 17s 6d, £7 5s ; best cows, £B, JHO 15s; others, £5 ss, £7. Store cattle—ls 9 yarded, and a good sale. Weedy yearlings, 18s 6d ; good fifteen to eighteen-months, £2 Is, £3 5s ; eighteen-month heifeir, £3 5s ; two year steers, £4, 1 7s 6d ; three-year, £7 2s ; two-year heifers, £3 15s, .£3 17s (id'; three-year, £5 lis; dry cows, 13s, £5. Dairy cows—loo yarded; good, in demand, £7 to £9 ; others (dull of sale), 1/3 to L. 6.
Fat sheep 3500 yarded i mostly unfinished sorts. A very dull sale, resulting in a drop of Is 6d to 2s for anything not prime quality. Unfinished not taken by graziei-s were passed. Prime woolly crossbred wethers, 17s to 2ls 6d ; others ; others, 14s to 16s 6d. In shorn a few prime show wethers orought 21s to 26s 6d ; others, 12s 6d to 15s 9d up to 17s Id. for extra good woolly ewes ; prime Downs, 18s 9d to 20s 6d; best crossbreds, 15s to 18s; medium, 12s to 12s ; inferior, 9s Id to lis; best shorn, 13s to 15s; others, lis 9d to 12s 6d ; best shorn, 13s to 15s ; others lis 9d to'l2s6d; best merino woolly wethers, 14s to 16s 6d ; others, 9s QA to 12s 6d ; best shorn, lis to 13s; others, 8s 10s; ewes, 8s to 12s.
Fat lambs—6oo penned, mostly secondary. The demand was mostly in the hands of butchers,, and there was a heavv decline. A few extra prime, 15s to" 16s ; good, 12s 6d to 14s; inferior, down to lis. Store sheep—-2226 penned ; all hoggets and ewes with lambs ; no wethers, little or no demand; many passed, Small lots of hoggets, 7s to 9s 7d j 300 ) arsed at 8s lid ; small lot ewes and 6s to 9s 3d ; 322 passed at 5s Sid. J • Pigs.— 500.. Many unfinished
and porkers sold well, but other sorts suffered by about 2s to Is per head. Baconersy 38s to 465, equal to 3|d per lb ; porkers, 24s to 325, equal to 4d ; large stores, 16s 6d to 22s 6d ; smaller, lis to 15s ; suckers and weaners, 5s to 7s.
