MASONIC GATHERING.

The installatien of W.M. and investiture of officers of Lodge Motueka No 117., N.Z.C., was held at the lodge room, High Street on Wednesday evening. A considerable number of visiting brethren frem Nelson, Wakefield, Marlborough, and other parts of the colony attended. The lodge being opened in due form, R.W. Bro C. J W. Griffiths, Grand Superintendent of the Nelson and Marlborough District, installed Bro Henry O'Brien Deck in the chair of King Solomon as Worshipful Master for the ensuing year. The. following officers were also invested : I.P.M. Bro W. W De Castro, S.W. Bro C. J. Ba?tlett, J.W. Bro. Charles S. Macfarlane, S.D. Bro. A. I. Manoy, J.D. Bro. George W. Jenkins, I.G. Bro. F. Hargreaves, Treasurer Bro. T. G. Brougham, Secretary Bro. J. A. Guy, Chaplain Bro. T. Johnston, Organist Bro. Manoy, lyler Bro. W. Taylor. W. Bro. De Castro, Director of Ceremonies was assisted by Bro. R. T. Melhuish, W. Moyes, and Pryor. Fraternal greetings having been extended the lodge was closed according to ancient custom, after which the brethren assembled in the Church of England School room, to partake of a cold collation. Several Masonic toasts were proposed and responded to, the hai-mony of the evening being materially added to by some excellent songs and recitations by the brethren; The proceedings were brought to a close at midnight by the singing of the National Anthem.
