CORRESPONDENCE.

TO THE EDITOR Sir : I quite agree with Mr Langford that parents who have complaints about the conduct of teachers should go to him and not parade their grievances before the Committee and the outsiders. The action of the chairman in taking charge of the matter ought to be brought before the Education Board. The parents don't want the chairman and the Committee to boss the school and take no notice of the headmaster, who seems from what I can learn from my children a very good man. Another Parent.

To The, Editok. Sir: Mr Langfurd : s plans.ble letter in your last issue is disappointing and unsatisfactory. He says- no complaint was sent to him, well knowing- all the while that one had; been despatched to the Committee. This was printed in the paper. And then he says such letters be-little the teachers in the eyes of the scholars and puhlic Good gracious ine, are we to stand by and see the children cruelly treated and not protest ? I say, shame on the parent who would not raise his or her voice on a child's behalf. Does the teacher think of the be-littling of the scholar before the school ? and children are' more sensitive than grown up folk. The headmaster is a stranger to us ; he has been in charge about four months, I think. "What does he know? about -what happened before he came. He there is nothing to remedy. If so the complaint before the Committee is not true. I am sure the mother would not have written if there was any doubt about about what took place. As I said before there are other things w r hich want attending to. I am etc., Parent.
