NGATIMOTI.

(From Our, Own Correspondent.) The Ngatimoti school was examined yesterday, and it is reported the result was satisfactory*, there being only three failures. The Orinoco school was examined to-day, and did very well. The Pokoroi-o school was examined on Thursday and passed a good examination, there being only one failure. This speaks well for the school, as many of the children have a long distance to travel. Mr Malcolm, late master of the Motueka school, was examiner. - Orchai-dists are complaining that some birds—they are doubtful as to whether it be the yellow hammer or the silver eyes, are eating the apple blossoms, some trees being quite bared of blossom. This will be a serious matter for the growers as it is felt there are enough pests already, without the birds being added to the list.
