RAGLAN.

The workmen, most of whom are Natives, have nearly completed, under the supervision of the local authorities, the trunk road leading from the settlement to the Wantetuaa river, a distance .of fifteen miles. There are fourleea abridges on. this line of way, two of which have been built over considerable streams, the Okete, about fifty feel in width, and the Mangakino, about thirty five. The benefits which will accrue to the settlers and the Natives in consequence of the opening up of this large tract of country by means of the Raglan road are fully known, aud need not, therefore, be dwelt upon here. Praise is due to ali parties concerned, especially to our old friend Win. Naytar, whose untiring energy in the matter encouraged 4he labourers to proceed .with their work in the face of much opposition from Unfriendly Natives.
