DEATH OF RIA TE UIRA OF OTAKI.

To the Editor of the Maori Messenger. Friend,—Will you announce in the Maori Messenger the death of Ria Te Uira, daughter of Wiremu Nera Te Kanae. She was a chieftainess of the Ngatitoa and a relative of the following persons:—Te Ao-o-te-rangi, of the Tainui tribe of Raglan; of VVaata Kukntai, Tamihana Tanui, Perakiwi, and Ruihana Te WhakaUeke of Waikaio; of Topine Te Amohau, Te Waiatua, Pekamu Tohi Te Ururangi, Petera Te I'ukuatua, Hori Wharara, of the tribes of Ngaihuuinekai, and Ngatiwhakaue. The Rev. Riwai Te Aha officiated at the funeral, and there
