The natives of this place find the timber trade a most lucrative employment, nor is this indispensible article likely to become scarce in this district, for a lengthened period, as kauri abounds on the four fine rivers which empty themselves; into the Kaipara estuary. Why are not such matters submitted to the Officers of the Government whose duty it is to hear any statements that may be made, and to award justice to the contending parties ?
