My Friends, Your industry is great in growing wheat, cora, potatoes, and other things, and you have purchased many horses which will | increase plentifully, but at present you make no use of tliem, except for your young men to gallop here nnd there without an object. To my mind it would be much better to m ako your horses work ; buy ploughs, (hey will not make your backs ache like the spide and ihs hoe. Plough your land like Europeans do, and before long you will grow a great deal more food, nnd get more money than you do now, for one man with two horses will turn up ns much ground in one day as sixteen men. Many of you have worked for Europeans, and know how to drive a cart or hold a plough, buy ploughs and carts and make yout horses work them, perhaps you do not know the piice of these things,—•
