It is a book lo inform you on a matter that will be advantageous to you, by which you may increase your property. This bonk that I am writing is about temporal matters. About the way of salvation for your souls you have all heard from your Missionaries. It is for you to attend to those things, those are the great things, the greatest of all, attend to those my friends. And now 1 write you about matters by which the body will be benefited nod your circumstances improved. Some things that will improve you have been already told you, much has been printed about the best way of building your houses, and about beds to sleep on, and clothing, and working, nnd improvements in tilling your land, about your food, and about the evils of war, and the blessings of peace—the customs of the Pnkeha have been told you. We have reminded you of your own proverb " What is the result of courage in war ?'' the result is uncertain, but cotirago in cultivating food, is not so uncertain as to results. Take the advice now given you and don't retain your-old customs. There has been a now thing established by tin- Governor, :ind the Gentlemen of Auckland and Port Nicholson—a good thing by which the money oi the native may be saved. A Hank, a place to preserve the fruit of your labours, or the cash for which you have sold your land, or other property to the Pakeha. (To be continued.)
