Kyeburn
Quite a gloom was cast over the district last week when the aad Dews came that two of our brave lads had been killed at the front. Private D. Healey, who died from wounds received in action on October 4th, waß tha youngest son of Mr and Mrs T. Healey. He was 19 yearß of age when he went away with the 19th Reinforcement. Private J. C Crutchiey, who was killed in action on October 4tb, w*a the third
son of Mrs J. H. Crutchley. He was 27 years of age and enlisted with the 21st Reinforcement. He was a fine stamp of soldier physique—well built an iof good height and proved himself one of the best shots in his regiment. He wa a member of the Maniototo Mounted Rifles for a number of years, and was highly esteemed by all who knew him.
lam sorry to say this is the third locally born and educated Kyeburn boy to pay the supreme sacrifice. Much symathy is felt for the bereaved parents.
