Red Cross.
The local secretary forwards us tbe following information: — A box containing the following goods has been forwarded to Miss McLean:—
Eight shirts, 16 underpants, 5 face cloths, 6 bay covers, 7 balaclavas, 11 suits pyjamas, 34 pairs day socks, 6 flannels, five pairs bed socks, 12 fomentation cloths; 1 pair cuffs, 6 handkerchiefs.
The Red CroS9 Quilt has been sent to Sir Thomas Mackenzie for the Walton-on-Thames Hospital. The collectors for the soldier's Xmas parcels met with a splendid response, collecting £l4, and were able to forward parcels to the 33 boys who left from Naseby, containing the following articles:—Condensed milk, cocoa, sildines. Rex cheese, chocolate, cigarettes, tobacco, tissues and sweets.
Miss McLean replied: Ths goods arrived safely, were tallied by your list and found correct. My committee desire me to convey their very sincere thanks for your welcome contribution to the Red Cross.
Will yon please to convey to Mrs Black, who made those beautiful handkercniefs for the use of the wounded soldiers, the very sincere and hearty thanks of my excutive, and tell her how greatly we appreciate her thought for the soldiers. The handkerchiefs were so beautifully made that I can hardly believe that they were made by one who is blind.
