Military Medal.

News has just been received by Mrs Strode, of Syeburn, that her son, Alexander Strode, has been awarded the Military Medal for acts of gallantry in the field. He left with the Main Body of the Expeiitionary Force, and Berved in the Gallipoli campaign, being on the Peninsula the whole time. After the evacuation he went to France, where he has been through severe fighting, and at latest advices was still in France, going strong. Three other sons of this patriotic widow are a'so in the firing line. It is gratifying to know that a native of our own district has earned such a distinction.
