Mount Ida Chronicle FRIDAY, AUG. 3, 1917. Hospital Committee.

The monthly meeting on Tuesday was attended by Messrs ' Parker (chair), Francis, Hore and Fraser.

The minutes of last monthly meeting were read,, and confirmed on the motion of Messrs Francis and Hore.

The correspondence was largely forNurse/Kelly forwarded her resignation, and the of the Delco electric light, and- the Alfa Gloria gas light sent circulars regarding the merits and cost of installing in the hospital their respective systems of lighting. The outward correspondence having been approved and the inward received, the secretary was instructed to forward the said circulars on to the Board.

The doctor reported that at last, meeting there were four m'ales and two females under tceatment, and two males and nine females had b.een admitted during the month, making the total treated 17. The discharges were one male and five females and one male had died, leaving under treatment four males. and six females. There were six births —four males and two females. Three out-patients made 14 attendances. Donations: Mrs Alex. Brown, oysters; Mrs Crutchley, poultry;. Mrs/Mulholland, .butter; Mrs T. Lindsay, soap; Mrs Mundell, ham; Mrs Beck, old linen.

Dr Lillie also attended the meeting"" and said arrangements had been made with Miss Kelly to resume the office of matron, and they expected her back about the second, week in August. The drains bad been giving a lot of trouble this winter and they would have to be attended to shortly. The report wa3 adopted on the mution of Mr Parker. It was resolved to get the-' groceries during the month from Mr Brown and that Mr Marshall cart the coal. On the motion of Messrs Hore and Francis, accounts amounting to £99 2s Od were recommended for payment.

Outstanding accounts of jex-patients were reviewed, and it was resolved tb place several in the hands of a solicitor for collection. . . ■ "*

The tender of Mr Jaß. Fennessy for the supply of milk for the next twelve months was accepted, and that of Mr -J. Mitchell for' supplying coffins and buns Is.

The committee arranged to inspect the drainage system and see'what-is required.
