Greymouth. Military Appeal Board.

The No. 1 Board sat at Naseby yes" terday afternoon. There was a larg e crowd in the court. Nearly all tb e appeals were for extension of time t° enable farm work to be done. Thos. H. Mann Rsked for time till the end of August, and he was ordered tojjgo forward with the August draft. tJJhas. L>. Dougherty said he had neither wheat or oats in. His father was 68, and his brother had enough to do to look after bis own place.—Dismissed, appellant to go forward with the August draft. Donald Nicolson, whose case was called at last meeting ani adjourned bb appellant was io the hospital for an operation, said he hardly felt fit to go but was prepared to go in several weeks. —Time extended till August draft. J Alex. Helm and Jas. Scott appealed on behalf of the former, as his services were required to work the farm and grazing run properties of the latter. Mr Scott had two sons at the front, one of whom hud sold his rim at a sacrifice in order to allow Helm to take the place of Mr Scott's Beeond son.—Referred to the Efficiency Board for inqairy. Tbe appeal of John Hastie and Mrs Hastie on behalf of the former was also adjourned for inquiry, Ciptain Free expressing the opinion that one of two other sons might be able to do sufficient as the property was a grazing one.

A. J. M. Campbell asked for] two months in order to arrange for a Bger or lease his farm.—Granted till September draft goeß forward. The appeal of John Allison was dismissed the father being still able to do some work and a son of 17 could probably do the ploughing. John H. Davie askecj till the end of August to finish rabbiting on his father's farm. Dismissed, rabbiting not being an essential industry. The appeal of H. E. Pearce was referred to the Efficiency Board. Two brothers are away and as they had two properties 30 miles apurt the plea was that the father could not manßge them both.

J. 0. Brien's appeal was dismissed, he being classed C2, The appeal of F. W. W. Oakland was heard in camera, as financial obligations were the ground.
