A SOLDIER'S NEWSPAPER

PUBLISHED IN LONDON. A newspaper -which will no doubt be eagerly sought "after by the general public is now published in London in connection with the New Zealand troops on active service. The sheet is entitled ' Chronicles of the New Zealand Expeditionary. Forces,' and w.ii3 started in London about nine months ago by two New Zealand soldiers. The object of the journal was for the circulation of the paper amongst the men of the Expeditionary Force, inainly to keep the units in touch with eaoh other throughout "Europe and Egypt, to record all items of interest, and to be a general record of all matters ionceming the Dominion's troops overseas The paper was really started by Trooper Clutlia Mackenzie, who held the position- as editor up to a few weeks ago. Trooper Mackenzie lost the eight of both eyes in the Gallipoh campaign, and only recently returned to Dunediu. He was assisted in the editorial work by Corporal G. B. Lennard oi the Auckland Mounted Rifles. During Mr Mackenzie's absence the work of producing the paper is being carried on bv Corporal A. L. Williams, son of the Rev. V\ . J. Williams, of Sumner, and Sergeant C Ive, late of the 'Southland Daily Times.' All the reading matter in the paper is entirely original, and has not before appeared m any other journal. The journal is likely to be of great interest to relatives and irieuds of the men of the New Zealand army. The paper is run entirely as a hobby, and it is the desire of the men who are issuing the sheet to merely make it pay for the cost of production. It is hoped that the circulation will extend considerobly m New Zealand, to enable the paper to .prosper. The journal is a bright and cheerv one and is considered to be one of the best of its kind published in Europe.
