Military Service Board.
Tha First Military Service Board held a sitting at Naseby yesterday afternoon. Present—Messrs Widdowson S.M., Bell and Kellett. Captain Free represented the Defence Department, and Mr Frasei- a good many of the appellants. The following being classed as C2, their applications were withdrawn or formally dismissed:—John M'Lennan, Michael Graham, Reuben Rowse Horo, William F. Jacob. James Kerr, Ghas. Dougherty, Patrick F. Kinney, Percy E. Islip, Murdoch Cameron, T. H Mee.
Hugh M 'Cloy, who appealed as being necessary to the working of his father's farm, was granted till the end of July. In fre case of Arthur Walter Hill, the Efficiency Board considered that as as he was necessary for working his employer's (Mrs Robertß) farm, he should be granted till the end of She First Division. —Granted accordingly. John Thomas Beck gave evidence that he was necessary to the working of his mother's coalpit and farm.— Adjourned for inquiry. Wm. Strong applied for extension of time till August in order to arrange bis business affairs, which was granted William Chirnside's application was adjourned for review at the end of the First Division, he having to support his mother and work his mining property.
Donald Nicolson's application was adjourned till next sitting, as he is iu the hospital.
