After sharp opposition trorn Mr. Keid, a clause was passed reserving riparian rights in future sales of lands in proclaimed minium districts, clause l ,i that before any Crown land Is offered _ for sale or selection the Board shall determine whether any water course rur.uin" through any boundary of the same will ia their opinion, thereafter probably be required for the purpose of discharging therein tailings, miners' debris, or waste water; an iif in the opinion of the said Board any such water course will be required the saiua shall be notified accordingly, and a right shall be reserved to the uovernor in tne Crown grant to issue to holders of miners'rights or mining teases or licenses to use such water course for such purpose without liability to any compensation therefor. A clause enforcing publicity of application when based on run holder's consent was added to the Lands Bill without opposition.
