MUNICIPAL COUNCIL.

An adjourned ordinary meeting was licld on Thursday last, at the Council 'Chamber, Town Hall. Present his "Worship the Mayor, and Crs. Craig, Dillon, Brookes, and George. The minutes of the last meeting were read and confirmed. COEUESrOXDENCK. Letter read from Mr. E. P. Sotting, asking permission to alter his veraodnh and loot path.—Grunted, subject to the approval of the General Purposes Ccm- , inittoo. BECEATION KESERVE. The following notice by Cr. Kowlatt lapsed in consequence of his absence—"That this Council take into consideration the power and rights of the Corporation to the piece of ground (part of the ]{.ecrealion Reserve) granted as a residence «rea to Mr. W. L. Bailey, and also the tail race running through the same ground granted to Joseph Leys and party." LAND ENDOWMENT.. On the motion of Or. Buookrs, it was Resolved —"That the. Mayor be authorised to make application to the Government for a reservation of 2000 acres of land under Pri't XIII. of the Municipal Corporations Act, 187 li, for the bene tit of the Municipality of Naseby." FINANCE. Accounts, amounting to £7B 6d., were passed for payment. THE BETtBING COUNCILLOBS. The Matob made a few remarks to the retiring Councillors, observing that when they took office they had to encounter financial difficulties, and now, when their term of office had expired, it was a source of satisfaction to find that a respectable balance lay to the credit of the Corporation in the bank.
