OAMARU-NASEBY RAILWAY COMMITTEE.

Tenders were received from Messrs Grant and Co., Thornton and Bull, II; Donkin, T. D. Triphook, W. H. Coyle, John Hardy, and John Hoskyns. This description of survey would be the only one which would give your Committee an approximate idea of the earth work, Ccc,on the line. Mr. Heid moved—That Messrs Grant and (Jo's tender be accepted, provided that they signify that the £d 18s. per mile apply to the selection line only. The motion was seconded by Mr. Campbell. As an amendment, Mr. Connell moved That Messrs Thornton and Bull's tender be accepted. Mr Gibbs seconded the amendment. On being put, the amendment was lost, and the original motion put and carried. DEPUTATION TO THE GOVERNMENT. At the suggestion of Mr. Campbell, it was resolved that one member each from tho County Councils of Waitaki, Maniotrto, aud Wm ma tc> one member each from the Municipal Councils of Oamaru and Naseby, and one member from the associated lioad Boards of the Oamaru district, be invited to form a deputation, to proceed to Wellington as soon as Parliament is in session, to interview the Government concerning tho railway.— ' JNorth Otago Times.'
