Letter read and received from the Chairman of the Mariiototo County Council; in reply to Mayor's, accepting* offer lo rent offices in the Town Hall for six months, at. tlie rate of £26 per anuiun. Letter from Messrs. M'Grath and Flannagan, request-iris:- three months' further time to ma ke good Is' ess-street.-—Granted, on the mot ion of Cr; _\'ewmakch, seconded by Ci*. Beookes. No: Cr. 'Che General Purposes Committee recommended the payment of £56 ss. to Mr. James Cain—contract No. I—ia full satisfaction of' his claim for work done in Poylo and Leven-streets. The report was adopted, ou the motion of Cr. Beookes. * ; '* NOTICES. Moved by Cr. Dillon, seconded, by Or. Brookes, and carried —" That his Worship the Mayor be empowered to enter into such arrangements as may to him seem desirable for repairs to Town Hall, and also raising the chimneys. DESIGNATION. Tho tender of resignation of Cr. Craig ns a member of the Finance Committee was declined, on the motion of Cr. Brookes. Ayes—Crs. George, Brookes, Dillon, and Ncwmarch ; no—Cr. Craig. TENDERS. The following for work required to be douo in Avoco-street were opened—David White, 80s. pet fchain} Ladd and
Vine 375. 6d.; Jatne3 Cain. 42a.; B. Gordon, £22 10s. White's tender was accepted. M'DONALD V. COBPOBATION. Mv. Kowlatfy solicitor, was instructed to appear on behalf of the Corporation.
ACCOUNTS. £56 ss. was passed for payment to James Cain, for labor done.
