Dunedin, Thursday Afternoon. At the Colonial firing at Hokitika, Otago bas not made a brilliant show, so far. The meeting re Macandrew testimonial *ast night was only attended by sixty persons, but all were influential citizens. Professor M'Gregor, in moving the first resolution—" That, in the opinion of this meeting' Mr. Macandrew's long continued and eminent public services deserve to be fittingly recognised by the public of the Province, and resolves that immediate steps be taken to invite the whole body of the peoplei of all shades of political opinion, to join in subscribing to the testimonial, which shall be alike worthy of them and the occasion" said that it wa3 incumbent on all citizens to show that they would not accept services unselfishly given, ill-requited and long-con-tinued, without proving that they were not ungrateful or forgetful. George Bell, in seconding, made a telling speech. Macandrew's greatest object always had been that Otago might go forward. Driver, inmovingthe second resolution, for appointing a Committee to cany out the first resolution, caused much amusement by saying that, had Macandrew acted from his (Driver's) political views during the past year, he would probably have taken care of himself. Turnbull was appointed Treasurer to the Committee, with Sligo as Secretary. Kensington has decided to petition for a Municipality. Thi3 makes four Municipalities for the Flat. LATER. The Raglan Estate, Auckland, has been sold to Henry Young, Auckland, fot £34,500. At Greymouth the English Eleven "made 119 runs. Greymouth has lost twelve wickets for 30 runs.
