Resident Magistbate's Coubt. (Before H.W. Robinson, Esq., R.M.) James M'Master.—Drunk and disorderly. Discharged. Griffen v. Bicknell.—Claim, £ls 18s. 6d. No appearance of defendant. Judgment for amount claimed, and costs. Wabdeh'b Coubt. (Before H. W. Robinson, Esq., Warden. Agricultural Leases.—The applications of A. Upsdalo, J. White, and Louis Gay Tan for remaining portion of section 42, Block 1., Highlay, were all refused, as it appeared that a number of Chinamen were resident upon the small residue of the section, some four acres ; James M'Anergeney was granted certificate for section 1 and 2, Block 1., Highley, 113 acres 1 rood 12 poles. Grants. —James Crowther, tail race and extended claim; J. Gray and others, extended claim; A. Gray, residence area; James Meiklejohn, residence area; Thomas Leahy, extended claim.
Distbict Land Office. (Before H. W. Robinson, Esq., District Land Officer.) James Griffiths and W. E. Griffen took up their licenses for land in Highlay district. The District Land Officer had other licenses with him for execution, but, the parties not appearing, he undertook to bring them once more. Mr. Kerin Claffy complained to the District Land Officer that a portion of the public pound had been surveyed into sections for sale. The District Land Officer undertook to consult with the Surveyor upon the subject.
