LICENSING COURT.

Sept. 7. (Before H. W. Bobinson, Esq., Chairman, L. W. Eusch and E. A. Chapman Oommiseionwe.) This was an adjourned meeting from September sth. Criterion Hotel. —This was an application for transfer of general and general night license from Thomas J. Ladd to Eicbard Webber. Mr. Hertslet appeared to support the application. Sergeant Smith objected that the application for transfer of general night license was not accompanied by a proper certificate of householders. There was a proper certificate to support the transfer of the general license. The Bench ruled that there was no legal necessity for certificate of householders in the case of applications for transfer, although it was undoubtedly convenient that there should be such a certificate, to satisfy the Bench of the suitability of the proposed transferee. In this instance the certificate with regard to the general license was satisfactory, and the Bench felt justified in granting both applications. Old Victorian Hotel. —Mr. Bowlatt apficared for Thomas Ching Sing, who had odged an application for a general and general night license for this house. The police had givon noti.-e of objection Mr. Bowlatt said that his client, not having yet. full possession of all the premises, was not in a position to go on with his application, and asked for an adjournment till the next Licensing Court.
