CORNISH VILLAGE V. HAMILTON.
(To the Editor of He Mgtjntlda CnnoNiCLK.)
August 14. Sib, —ln reference to Mr. Solomon Stowe's statement in last M'eek's number, that I was in error in not stating what part of the road was impassable, I may state that by doing so, sir, I would only be boring your readers with a lot of nonsense. But if Mr. Stowe himself comes out some rainy day, and brings the said gum boots, and a bottle of "old torn," as we are all Good Templars, and can drink nothing stronger, I thinlc I would be able to convince him that it is close upoi five miles, with a lot of soft places in it, that even a Good Templar might find some trouble to get through. JNow, with regard to enumerating from twenty to fifteen, it is a mathematical. problem that even the great Solomon himself could not make out, so therefore I need not try it. What I said was. that there were between ten and twenty children, and Mr. Stowe says fifteen, so that bears mo out. I hope that any remarks of mine won't prevent Mr. Stowe from subscribing to the fund for the erection of a half-way school. Thanking you for your valuable space —I am, &c., John M'Doif ALD.
