According to the ' Southland Times/ some of the squatters in that part of the Province a:e carrying on a rigoroas warfare against the rabbits. One Bquatter sent down for shipment last year 150 bales of wool, against 250 the year before, and will only be able to Bead 50 bales neit season. Daring the past month, on one run. alone, Mr. Cowan's at the Oreti, over 6,000 nave been slaughtered, but it seems to make no difference; and at tho present time Mr. Purdue, at the Oreti Crossing, has hit upon oue way of disposing of the rabbits profitably, and has jusfe entered into a contract for the purchase of their bodies, without the skin 3, at a shilling & dozen, and proposes to uge them up in feeding pigs. People are beginning to inquire when the report of the Rabbit Comniissionera will be published.
