October,2l. Present His Worship the Mayor, Crs. George, Bowlatt, and Newmarch. Minutes of last meeting were read and confirmed. CORRESPONDENCE. —OUTWARD : Copy of a letter to Messrs. Webber and Co., calling immediate attention to the tact of their having failed to perform the work Undertaken by them in foi'mjng

High-street, according to agreement. INWAED: Letter from Webber and_Co., in reply, asking for three months' extension of time for making good the road, and stating that it was a bigger job than they ever anticipated ; also that, there being plenty of water available just now, they were anxious to make good use of it, having done very little up to the present. Letter from Mr. Jacob, requesting paymentof the balance of his account for work done at the Town Hall.

Letter from William Mossman, informing the Council that after one month from date, October 9, 1875, he should consider himself freed from the employ of the Corporation.' •" •■■"• ■•..-•■'-• ■'■';•'

DEPUTATION. A deputation was introduced by Mr! de Lautoub; M.P.C., from a party of gentlemen who had consulted him in reference to the establishment of a public pound at JNaseby;.. ' ' Messrs. James Hobe and Mulhollanb explained their views to the CouEcil, after which it was agreed that the matter should be considered at next meeting. EXTENSION OF TIME. On the motion of Or. Newmabch, the request of Webber and Co. was granted.

FINANCE. ...'■'' Cr. Newmabch moved, and Cr. Geobge seconded, a resolution—"That Mr. Jacob's account be paid as soon as the' money can be collected." Carried. Cr. G-eobgb moved, and Cr. Bowlatt seconded, a resolution—" That all monies nowm the hands of the Town Clerk, and that all monies collected by him in the future, be paid into the Bank of New South Wales to the credit of the Corporation of JNaseby." His Worship strongly disagreed with the terms of the motion, which was however supported by the other Councillors present, and carried.

COPIES OF COEBEBPONDENCE. Cr. Geobge moved, and Cr. Newmabch: seconded, a resolution—"That in future all outward correspondence be read from press*copy and letter-book" Carried. '•■','..'."

SPECIAL MEETING. * OcTOBEB 23. Present—His "Worship the Mayor, and full Council.. PBOTEST BY CB. CBAIG. The meeting was called to consider a protest lodged with the Town Clerk by Cr. Craig on the day previous, objecting to a resolution passed at the last ordinary meeting, effecting a change in the ration bank account; and also a letter addressed to his Worship the Mayor by the agent of the Bank of New Zealand, received on the day previous. . ■'•■•'. After - considerable discussion it was •moved by Cr. Eowlatt, and seconded by Or. Newitabch—"That the protest of Cr. Craig, -being illegal, be* not entertained." ■ ;•:..■'*•. : .'-.•■.- ;
