After discussion, Mr. Reid moved !that the matter be again referred to the Private Petitions Committee, with a view ,to the petitioner being heard, no slight being intended on the Committee. j Mr. Fish seconded the amendment, which was agreed to. u , . : .-, WANT OF CONFtDEKCE«i;i! ;'r I On Mr. Steward being called, upon to move, in accordance with notice - gLven ; , "That the Executive, as at. present constituted, does not command the confidence of this Council," ■ ! : Mr. Steward stated that, although a majority of members were in fivor of the motion, yet, as a number thought it was desirable the Government should have ah opportunity of bringing down their Estimates, they had requested Jim "to.forbear taking any further notice a; present. Mr./.de Lautoar m»ved, "That a rer spectful address be piesented• to his Honor the requesting him to nominate, during tie recess, a Board of Inquiry to collect (vidence and report upon the possibility >f attaching technical classes of instructioj to the public schools of the Province, orof establishing a central technical college of instruction." The duty of the Boan,. he said, should be, amongst other thi'gs, to furnish information as to what vas taking place in the leading countriesof Europe at the present time.
