It is supposed to be an advance from the Rothschilds on account of a loan, and it is coujsctured that Vogel arranged the matter on the Continent, where he was at the latest advices.
The proposed judicial changes will take! -place at the end of next month. Bowen promises to give his best attention to bankruptcy reform, and admits, the necessity of some provision being made for bringing back absconding debtors. At G'hristcburch the niau Mercer, who was committed'for trial fo?£he< murder of tbe'girl Thomson, is failing in health rapidly, and it is doubtful-whether he will live for trial.
