ARROW MINERS ASSOCIATION.

An extraordinary meeting of this body was held on Saturday, 22nd instant, for the purpose of considering the circular of the Central Executive, referring to the idea of Mr.. Yogel, lately thrown out by him—viz., fo place ihe Goldfields under a.similar system of management to that of Immigration. The Committee wore of the unanimous opinion that the Goldfields would be better managed if under the control of the General Government than, as at present, under the Provincial Executive. Almost every speaker illustrated bis-argumenta-by references to the refusal^of Mining Boards by the Olago Executive.

A letter was read from the Central Treasurer, promising the support of the Otago Miners' Association in the proposed Art-Union for the Miners' Institute. 1 A vote of thanks to the chair concluded the proceedings. *
