Postponed for further consideration. FIBE BBIGADE. ~ ~ Letter from Captain Stephens, in reply to Town Clerk's, recommending MessrsMorrison and Langmaak for the offices of Secretary and Gearmen, at a salary, of £l6 per annum. Eesolved—That Mr. John Morrison be asked to take the offices at £l2, the amount agreed between Mitchell and the Corporation lor the same work. NOTICE OF MOTION. In the absence of Cr. de Lautour, Cr_ Bbookes moved, seconded by Cr. Cbaig, and carried —" That the Town Clerk be instructed to write to the Secretary for Works, asking that the proposed bridge crossing the Taieri River between Hamilton and Naseby be immediately carried .out in accordance with the promise made by. the late Government. Also, that the Government be requested to direct that the survey of Foyle-street be proceeded, with at an early date ; and that the land on either side be laid off in small sections for sale. TOWN HALL. The tenders for roofing were held over till to-night (Friday) for further consideration. FINANCE. The following accounts were passed for payment.: —A. G.
