G-lenn to purheld'by them under miner's rights and business licenses. —The Board decided that the ground should .be surveyed by applicants, and afterwards sold by auction with valuation, added in the usual manner. The upset price was fixed~at~£'s per quarter-acre if the ground formed .a frontage to the main road'and £3 if. a back section.—The Town Clerk applied that the -back/ground on section 97, block I, should be reserved from sale. The applicant was instructed "to furnish a tracing of the land, and toV state for what purpose the reserve was required. .'/TiifKEEs. —A petition was received, praying that"' tlie ; sec lionsin the township of Newton (Tinkers) should be reserved for sale.—The petition was referred to the District land, Officer for. advice.
Shag "Valley.—A communication was read from Sir JV' D. -Bell'" to the effect that a misconception had arisen on the part of the Board in stating his case - for the - opinion * of, Attorney-General. The writer contended, that he had not raised any'objection'to the sale pf the Shag Yalley Block, but that he questioned the power of the Board to sell it after it had been re : ineluded in the Goldfields.
