ST. BATHANS DISTRICT MINERS' ASSOCIATION.

A general meeting of members was held in fctn schoolroom, St. Bathans, on the evening of Tuesday, 24th February, 1874 -■ EMOTION OF DEMGATE. After the usual routine business had been disposed of, the Chairman (Mr. G-. Purton) informed the meeting,- which had been convened to elect a delegate to represent the Association at the Conference at,. Clyde, that only one candidate had been nominated, namely, Mr. John Ewing, the Secretary of the Association, that consequently no election was required. ' It was unanimously agreed that f Mr. Evring should represent the Association. Mr. Ewino then briefly addressed the meeting on the more'important of the subjects likely to be brought before the Conference, stating that, in his opirtion, the question that took precedence of all others was that of river pollution. After the usual vote of thanks to the Chair, the meeting separated.
