On the whole, _the 'district cannot be accused .of developing a heavy criminal list—St. Eathans particularly showing to advantage. The" great excess of f the amounts sued for oyer the amounts re-covered-show; how-readily parties considering themselves aggrieved are to go to law, and'how very "futile those attempts at redress - generally are. A lesson to avoid litigation may very well be extracted out of these dry statistics of the Court transactions during 1873 in this district.
