(From our own correspondent.) — : Dunedin, Thursday Evening, Another insurance company has been started at Wellington. Mr Nosworthy's sale of racing stock, attracted a large attendance. Redwood, of Nelson, purchased Lurline for 750 guineas; Ray, of Canterbury, purchased Calumny for £550 and Hatred for £300; Webb, of Canterbury purchased Defamer for £170; and of Canterbury, purchased Malice for £220.

Williamson's complete majority is 461. The Interprovincial cricket match—Canterbury v. Auckland— commenced yesterday. The Canterbury .team's fielding was splendid, but the bowling was not up to the usual mark. The weather*was very bad. The bowling of the Auckland team was magnificent.
