MOUNT IDA DISTRICT HOSPITAL.
A special meeting. of the Committee was held on the 14th of August last, to consider a letter from Mr. Sub-Inspector M'Cluskey.
A further special meeting was held, on the 23rd elect to elect Wardsman and Matron.
After a careful consideration of the applications, Mr M''Kay and wife were appointed.
At the ordinary meeting of the Committee, there were present—H. W. Robinson, Esq., President, and Messrs. George, Inder, Pyke.. Brown, Jackson, and Smith.. The minutes of previous meetings were read and confirmed.
CORRESPONDENCE. A letter was read from Mr. M'Kay, asking that the coach fare be paid. On the motion of Mr. INDER, seconded by Mr. SMITH it was resolved that, if the situation were retained for six months, the coach fare would be allowed.
.A letter was read from Captain Hamilton, enclosing a cheque for £4, as per list. Letters were also read from the schoolmaster, suggesting the removal of trees belonging to the Hospital from his garden. Resolved—That the trees be at once removed to the Hospital Reserve, and that competent persons be employed by the Visiting Committee to see it done. REPORTS. The Treasurer's report showed the receipts during the month to have been - Subscriptions, £42 16s. 6d.; subsidy from Government, £173 12s. Balance in hand, £249 18s. 8d. The Visiting Committee's report was received and adopted. The Surgeon's report showed the number of patients remaining in the Hospital at .end of previous month to be 5; admitted during the month, 8; discharged, 8; remaining in Hospital, 5; outdoor patients, 2. ACCOUNTS. The following accounts were passed for payment - Morley (attendance on Gleeson), £6 IGs.; Mount Ida Chronicle (advertising), £3 135.; Kearney (milk), £.l 6s!; Langmaak (carpenter), £3 18s.; Teague, 5s.; baker, £1 10s.; Masonic Hall, £2; Auditors, £2 2s.; Brown and Smith, £9 10s. 5d.; Busch, £6 14s. SUPPLIES. The Secretary was instructed to call for tenders for supplies for the next six months. VISITING COMMITTEE. The Visiting Committee for the ensuing month are Messrs. E. C. Smith, W. Inder, and Thos. Jackson. The Visiting Committee were instructed to employ a man to prepare the garden, and do necessary work in connection with the grounds, and also to make the fence goatproof.
