MAEREWHENUA.

(To the Editor of the Mount Ida Cheoniole.) I .. ,; . ;; ' 21st August, 1873..,; _Sie,—7-In your last issue I see that Mr.. Robinson, the Warden at Naseby, lias great confidence in our G-oldfield. I trust Mr. Robinson is not. misled —for there is ';.. a long distance between Mr. Robinson, Warden at Naseby, and Mr. Robinson as gold prospector— Practice and Theory'are far apart. 3Jet me add, as a stranger here, that I do not think it beneficial to the interests of the mining community at large that a few novices holding water rights should be allowed so much acreage as now —evidently not knowing how to make use of such acreage, only for monopoly. If you have borrowed Mr. Robinson's name as a reliable opinion, I trust you will excuse my subscribing myself A Practical Mines.
