THE PROVINCIAL ACCOUNT.
The general balance-sheet for the financial year ended March 31 has been published. At the end of the last financial year there was a balance against the Province of £44,658 10s ; this year there is a credit balance of £13,149 7s 2d. The Provincial revenue for the year . was £308,067 17s Id; and there was received from the General Government during that period, £5,000 ; under the North Otago District Loan Apt, £6,611 14s 6d; under the Public Works Act, and on account of Road Boards, £21,874 13s 9d, making a total revenue from all sources of £341,554 5s 4d. The overdraft of £44,658 was liquidated ; the general expenditure amounted to £269,300 13s lOd, £4,225 being under the North Otago Loan Act, thus leaving a balance of £27,595 Is 6d, of which £744 lis Id is voted for expenditure under, the North Otago Loan Act, £l6O under the Public Works Act, and £13,54012s 5d on account of the Road Boards, so that the actual balance in favor of the Province is £13,149 7s 2d, as before stated.
