(Frb'm bur own-correspondent.) : " A prnrid'ball in honor of; the Queen's Birthday was held in the Union Hotel here on -iViday evening. last. Admission ■was by ticket at; ss. each. In consequence of the the. weather .the. attendance was not so good as was expected. Dancing commenced at nine o'clock to Mr II Barley's accompaniment on the violin, and was kept up wi'Mi great spirit till an early hour. Mr Bailey's piaying w;-s particularly admired, and whether it was on account of his well known superiority as a musician or not, ; the other, violinists in the district did not .put in sin anpear-. ancc. Mr J. Stephens was noticeably enthusiastic in the amusements of the evening. aiid acquitted himself -satisfactorily.
