(To the Editor of the Mount Ida Chronicle.) Sir, —I am - astonished and surprised at the action taken by Messrs Mervyn and Armstrong in the Provincial Council. Their conduct in voting against a Government that has done more for the district than any that has preceded it, is both inexplicable and inexcusable, and the sooner the opinions of the district are representedby men who possess the confidence of the electors, the sooner will it free itself of an incubus that has impeded its progression. Should a dissolution not be granted, I would suggest that a public meeting be called, and that Messrs Mervyn and Armstrong be requested to resign. It is now high time that competent men should be elected to represent the the real interests of Mount Ida, and that it should no longer be in the power. of a miserable Roxburgh cockatoo and a peripetetic tooth-drawer to sell that interest to the agricultural party. —I am, &c, Boots.
