WASTE LANDS BOARD.

(Condensed from the- ' Star.') The usual weekly meeting of the Board was held last week. There were present: Messrs. Strode (in the chair), Butterworth, and Tolmie. The following business was transacted:— Mr. Begg, for the Hon. E. Campbell, applied to have the plans of his application in the Maerewhenua district approved, and himself declared the purchaser. The matter was adjourned for a week. Mr. E: Stout appeared and ably opposed the application on behalf of the residents of the Maerewhenua. Sir F. D. Bell wrote asking if the Board was precluded from selling the block of land in Shag Yalley lately added to the Gold fields. The matter was referred to the Goldfields Solicitor for his opinion. .j.Mr. Joseph Preston's application to have the village reserve at Kyeburn on his run, No. 203, removed to a place higher up, and the present reserve added to his lease, was granted. . Warden Carew reported on the application of the Tiger Hill Flour Mill and Brewery Company for a mill site and water right on block L, Tiger Hill. It was resolved to grant the applicants a mill site, license, and water-right, subject to the conditions named by the Warden.
