The old Waste Lands Board, at its meeting on the 6th. December, 1871, resolved—" That the Board will grant applications for pastoral country, without competition, to persons who may hav.e actually explored the same, and ■ who- will . prod'ice bona fide sketches to the 'Chief Commissioner as a guarantee of ~,good. faith." At the meeting of the Board, held yesterday, application was made for 5000 acres of country, which the applicants claimed to have discovered, and it was unanimously resolved that the land be assessed, and the lease put up to : auction in the-usual way. liather poor inducement to discoverers this.
