WARDEN'S COURT.

Saturday, Ist Makch

(tfefore H. W. Eobinson, Esq., Warden.) Gruffie and another, applicants; White and another, objectors.—Mr. Hertslet for applicants, Mr: Sowlatt for objectors. This was an application for protection made with the purpose of testing the right to a claim at Clark's'. The same claim' was the cause of some litigation last week between the same parties. After., a" lengthened argument, the Warden decided to grant the, application, upon it being inserted in the- certificate that,"the claim was only protected for such interest as the applicants held in the' same. --His Worship declined,' except by consent of both' parties, ■ to give any decision ■on the right of either side to the claim under the present application. The applicants refused to "take a conditional grant of protection, and the application was, therefore, marked refused. ' " W. O. Ball, applicant; W. S. Douglas, - objector.—This application had been adjourned from the last" sitting of-the Warden's Court, at Macraes, to allow of a settlement being arrived', at between the parties. Further time being asked for by the applicant, the" Warden " adjourned the hearing until'the lith inst. Mr. Eowla'tt for'applicant, Mr: Bailey for objector.
