(Before H. W. Robinson, Esq., Warden). Mining Lease Applications.—Shamrock Gold Mining Company. The hearing of this case was adjourned till 'the 20th March. —Shag Valley Freehold Gold Mining Company (registered),. This was objected to by the Perseverance Company. Mr. Rowlatt for applicants, Mr. Bailey for objectors. The objection was not to the application as a whole, but to the granting of a small portion which, it was alleged, was necessary to the objectors as a repository for tailings. After hearing a good deal of argument, the Warden decided to adjourn his decision till the Ist of March, with the understanding that the parties would endeavor in the meantime to come to an amicable arrangement. Machine Site. —Application of Shag Yalley Company. This also was objected to by the Perseverance Company. It was arranged that the decision upon this application should also be reserved until the Ist of March. The following grants were made:— O'Shaughnessy, protection ; Lindsay and another, water race ; A. Simpson, water race. Withdrawn.—Murray and others, protection.
