Breaches of Licensing Ordinance.—Police v. , (Jlaffy.—lnformation for selling liquors without.a license.—A large a mount of evidence was hoard, and the -Court imposed a penalty of £lO, with 6j. 6d. costs, and 50s< expenses. Mr. Bailey for defendant. Police v. Sicli.—this was a similar case, but the evidence showed that the liquor had not been sold. The persons supplied, having been invited as ' private friends..; Discharged. Mr. Bailey for defence.

Police v. Glover.—This was an information i'or exposing spirituous liquors for sale at the defendant's store,' Shag Valley reels. Mlv Bailey, for defend-mt, asked whether the police wei-e prepa: ed to prove that the Jiquor seized, (half a bottle ; ot brandy) was- more than twenty-six overproof,. as he was .instructed that it was not so, and that it was merely kept for the refreshment of the storeman himself. Serjeant iVL'Oiuslcy having opened the bottle, said that the fluid, appeared.; much weaker than he imagined, and that i he did not think lie should do any good I by getting the case adjourned to have the strength tested. With, the consent ofi the Bench, the case was withdrawn. i
