Sir, —It was with very much pleasure that I put my name to a requisition, calling on Mr. E. T. G-eorge to stand , for the honorable post of first Mayor of Naseby. Mr. George's great practical knowledge in matters Municipal, gathered in England as well as in the colonies, shews him to be the fit man fcr this post. We do n6t want some. whippersnapper, with all sorts of go-a-head ideas —thoroughly unpractical—to lead the business of a year which should be one of great caution. Nor do we want a rash, and intemperate bully. No, sir! Mr. G-eorge is the man for the post: the possession of a few hundreds of pounds will not turn his head ; he will undertake the post with credit ; he will fill it with dignity, and give it up with honor. —Tours &c, Old Hesiden r.
