(To the Editor oftlie Mount Ida Chronicle ) Notice, Mr editor sir seeing in your paper on the 1 November as the ensurance comp-uiey have gave 4 gunieas for the water as the fire brigade have abeen using and if you can tell me who have gott it the public might think as the waterworks compy have got it, they have not, and if other people got it, i hope they will by water to water strets and likewise for fire, this fire, brigade, have nothing to do with the water in the dam, they get a share and no more, this water is for domestic purposes not to water streets nor for fire, one third of the town have gott no water on booth hotel keepers and store keepers and if they suold be in want of water in case of fire dont look to the companey for it if you dont like to pay a rate for it this water the companey is paying 50 pounds a year for it and to keep the dam and pipes in repair its not done for Nothing i see on the 15 the public is wanting the dam kept full, and iike wise the pipe to give all the preshure ycu can and gett nothing for it, so i hope every one will look to himself in case of fire, John Farmeb.
