The ' Tuapeka Times ' has been informed that several miners from the Dunstan district have taken their departure for the South African diamond fields. Accounts from the Upper Buller diggings are of a glowing character; At Irishman's Creek a partv of five miners has obtained 500 ounces of gold in five, weeks, being equal to about £75 per man per week. At another place at 50 oz. nugget, a good deal water worn but almost free from quartz, was found ; and in the same place a man obtained 21bs. of coarse gold in two hours, ; a much larger quantity, the amount of which is not stated, being subsequently found there. This ground* however, is believed to be of but small extent. Its lucky owners are a Spaniard, two Italians, and an Englishman. Between this spot and the Lyell, five nuggets, weighing from ilozs. to 28 ozs. have been found.
