THE FORTHCOMING RACES.
The Dunedin Jockey Club annouiu-e the annual races to take place, at Forbury Park, on the 22nd and 23rd March, 1872. It is expected that stakes to the amount of £IOOO will be run for.
The programme for the forthcoming Lake District Races, to be hold on the 11th and 12th January, 1872, has been made public, and from it we see that a sum of £290 is to be run for. A feature in che programme is that none but provincial and district horses will be allowed to compete. The programme for the Dunstan Jockey Club Races, to come off on the 26th and 27th proximo, has also been issued. The sum of £445 is to be run for. The St. Bathans annual races will be held on the 26th and 27th proximo (same date as Dunstan races). From the programme issued by the Cromwell Jockey Club, we observe that the stakes to be run for on the 29th and 30th proximo amount to £365. The liberal programme put forth by the Mount Ida Jockey Club (in another column) show prizes to the amount Ox £465. These races will be held on the 10th and 11th January, 1872.
